Stonecutters bridge is an important component of Route 8 between Tsing Yi and Shatin. It has a clear span of 1,018m crossing the Rambler Channel at Kwai Chung container port, and it is one of the longest span cable-stay bridges in the world.
A 4,000ton flat top barge equipped with dynamic positioning system was deployed for the transportation of main span segments and assistance of lifting.
